Siddhartha K. Shakya

I am a researcher at the Business Modelling and Operational Transformation Practice, British Telecom, Ipswich. Prior to joining BT, I was a research assistant at the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen. I am interested in theoretical and practical aspects of optimisation algorithms, particularly evolutionary computation and estimation of distribution algorithms. My other research interest includes search heuristics, probabilistic graphical models, graph-drawing algorithms, bioinformatics and machine learning. I am also interested in theory and application of Operational Research, particularly in revenue management and dynamic pricing. My recent engagement includes work in the area of computational modelling and large scale simulations. I obtained my PhD (2006) from the Robert Gordon University, where I conducted research in Markov network based EDA. I also hold an MSc (2002) in Intelligent Systems from the University of Sussex, Brighton, and a ME (1999) and BE (1998) in Computer Engineering from the Vladimir State University, Russia.
